Thanks for the early birthday wishes everyone! I am trying to put on a brave face . . . :D

I remember Bozo the Clown. Wasn't he out of Chicago? There was also another clown show . . . this might be too late for you guys . . . he was filmed out of Arizona. I met him when I was about 7. My uncle took me and my brother to the studio, and Billy actually got called down to do something (I can't remember what now). I can't for the life of me remember this other clown's name!

I remember Captain Kangaroo, Lucy's Toyshop, Howdy Doody, and for you Ohioains...Uncle Al. Uncle Al played the accordian and had Captain Wendy helping him with the kids. They just don't make shows like these anymore.

Someone else I ran across, when I was researching Oopsie the clown that on the go mentioned..Soupy Sales. I loved that silly man!

On the go, I remember Bozo for sure.

I remember KC being on in the AM before going to school, I also remember coming home and watching, get this, and this is where I get my love of reading Stephen King and the Sci-Fi aspect of my "ID".

And of course after that I'd watch Flippo. Remember the 3 wheeled car that he had with the door that opened in the front instead of on the side? I went to school with his daughter at North High School class of 74 (originally).

And you could visit Mr. Tree at downtown (Col's) Lazarus store during Santa season. Much fun!!

I know a lady who made puppets for the Lucys Toy shop show(thats where the schoolbus came in ..you passed it around and when the music stopped you got a prize..usually a puppet like hers giraffe and dragon are 2 I remember) anyhow she said she was quite the tyrant and liked to tip a bottle alot.. : l (shatter the childhood memory..thanks ; ) ....)

...she had watched the Capt and Mr. on one of those archaic Black and white TV's like I did. I guess I forgot you have to be close to 50 to remember them!!!

Whoa, there, now hold on just a minute! I remember Capt. Kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans (AND that moose that was always dropping ping pong balls on everyone!) BUT I am nowhere near 50!

VM----I LOVED Dark Shadows. I think I was in junior high when I watched that one straight in the door after school. Zachary Taylor's head was finally revealed under the black cloth thingy.....is that right???

DW - maybe we need to get a series started? Childhood memories of the 40 & 50 somethings. (who needs thirtysomething...ha!)

I'm in! I remember Mr. Tree at Lazarus Downtown, too! AND Flippo! That was a loss to the community also.

Now thirtysomething was a good show, I thought. :)

Besides watching Captain Kangeroo (with Mr. Green Jeans) I loved watching Bozo the Clown!!!

But I had not heard of the other programs; maybe that is because I grew up in California!!
