I was born in England, moved away, and then back again when I was alittle older. I LOVE ENGLAND!!! I'm actually excited for you because I know I used to love this time of year and Guy Fawkes day was always something special. I hope you have a fabulous time and have some bangers and mash for me while you're there! LOL

well, I'll have mash, anyway... I don't particularly like most sausages... mostly because they tend to be spicy, and I dislike things that are overly spiced...

I have delicate tastebuds

Quote I will be there in Stratford-upon-Avon on Guy Fawkes Day

May I just say here in a public forum... I hate you!!!! ;-)

Stratford was one of my favorite places to visit when I went to England with my husband several years ago and to be there on Guy Fawkes Day... I am so sincerely jealous.

I hope you have a fabulously, wonderful time!

Remember remember, the 5th of November,
The gunpowder treason and plot,
I see no reason that gunpowder treason,
should ever be forgot.

And that's the whole beauty of Guy Fawkes Day... It commemorates a plot that failed!

I love it!

Quote Love the way you made the Union Flag flutter in the breeze GT :-)

I'm particularly fond of the way the powder kegs in the lower right corner explode every now and then. You have to watch them for a little while, though. :)

And then the Guy in the lower left corner breaks into song.

The country has obviously decided to remember two days early, because as I sit here there are fireworks going off left, right and centre outside. I suppose it is the nearest weekend to the 5th November but it is a pity they don't wait. I love the thunderous ones :-) Wish I had a bonfire to cook some jacket potatoes and bangers in.
