Besides... please don't distract her until AFTER the Box of the Month is planted.

Scarab mailed it the other day-- so I expect to plant it this weekend!

I also finished a stamp for the 5 Secrets box. If the other people can get those stamps into X by 11/20 I may be able to get the box into the Raleigh area by 11/23. *crossing fingers*

And then there is the other X box that will be going out in Matthews probably sometime in 11/07.

I also just sent a box to dtandfambly for Table Rock.

And then there is BABE to start carving for.

Lots of projects planned! :)

I've got an idea, why don't you plant some at Table Rock for the upcoming gathering! I'm sure Papa Wolf will help since he told me he was going to be the first one to get the box at the top of the mountain. Maybe he can plant some of yours on the climb up. (chuckle)

I think you've got your Wolves confused. Papa Wolf is a bit muggle-ish. He prefers to stand at the top of hills and sing "The hills are alive..." Mama Wolf is the one who will race you to the box and crawl over your cold, dead carcass to get there first. ;-)

Unfortunately, Mama Wolf said the Wolf Family won't be attending, I believe, unless she's changed her mind since yesterday.

If the carcass has time to get COLD, she's slowing down. 8))

That's right!! Just how slow do you think I am, Knit Wit! You tell her, WalkinOrange!

*pausing to think*
Hmm... possibly WalkinOrange did not mean this as a comment to defend me...

Yes, Mama Wolf is right. I need the final clues and stamps for Five Secrets...as soon as you guys can. You know who you are...Mama thinks that if the box is ready to go, she can begin transporting it back across the state following her Thanksgiving visit to the OBX. Thanks.

*snorting tea* and LOL!!! My mental photo of Papa Wolf doing that still cracks me up - one of my better letterboxing days!!! We did have a moment of silence when we opened the (you know it if you've gotten it) box at Biltmore - she did stop for that ;-)) But thinking back - it was really just a nanosecond of silence............ *snicker*

Good times though ;-))

Without a doubt. Now don't tell me, YOU intend to torture me by setting him off quoting Monty Python like some other letterboxer *coughKnitWitcough*

It's bad enough that I suspect Ellbee may be doing that when we get to the OBX!

He does NOT need any encouragement whatsoever!

now see there Cam...
I am the opposite right now...
I don't have the time to do the carving!

I'll end up somewhere with a nice little trail or good hidey hole but nothing to plant...
I wish I had the time to plant like I used to :(

I truly miss it a great deal...
so from one NC boxer to another...
keep those things in your car in case you find yourself in the right spot etc...
and have fun! :)

Hey X

been meaning to drop you an email to say how gorgeous your box and idea for 5 secrets is...
and also to apologize for not getting anything to you for your scrutiny ;)
I was going berzerk knowing the deadline was passing me by and there was nothing i could do about it.
I really wanted to be some part of 5 secrets but as usual here lately...
my life has gotten in the way again. :-P

I hope you are having fun with the entries...
have there been any past discussions where winners were announced or anything...
or is all that a secret too? ;)

Nothing was publicly announced, but X e-mailed the people who entered and let them know whether they were in or not. And believe me I have been picking his brain for any possible clue as to what kind of mind meltdown I'm in for with trying to solve them-- he isn't giving anything up! Other than teasing as to how clever and tricky the clues are!

So what do you consider a challenging drive-by Mama Fox? Is it one where the only place to park is with your back wheels on peat bog after 4 days of rain?

Or is it when you can park easily, but the letterbox is out of reach of the fishing net when you poke it out of your window?

I think both of those definately qualify! Sounds like you are speaking from personal experience ;-))

Here in NC, though we are having a drought - so I'm afraid I won't be challenged in these ways anytime soon...... However, for the future, how long of a fishing net do you recommend - I might get one to keep in my car, just in case ;-))

*** Okay, he isn't right -- he did marry me after all. ***per momma wolf...

When my mom married my dad, she said he was just hanging around her apt and wouldn't leave...so her and her roommate played cards and the loser had to marry him to get him to leave...or so the story goes...

When KoTL04 married me...same scenario, only she was playing solitaire...Hmmmm

Be Safe...

Hey Dix,

Good to have you back on the boards. Five Secrets is waiting to hear from the people who were selected about final clues and stamps. The entries were remarkable. Glad I'm not solving this thing! Mama Wolf has already self proclaimed first rights for her arduous trip to the OBX on Thanksgiving. Thinks that Ellbee, Scout, and she will ripping that thing apart in a matter of hours. Then, she's alledged that she will drop it off with someone (specifically named) on the way back to homeplate.

"X" thinks she's been nipping at the orange potion again...*eyes rolling*

Don't worry about not getting something in for Five Secrets...other opportunities await in my gift basket.

Is there a time limit?

Maybe not normally, but since we all don't live near each other, we really only have the day. Of course if a few more join us at the mini-meet we may have better odds of cracking into it.

But she has been tossing out the "bolt cutter" idea. That would solve the box literally in seconds. She wouldn't dare...unless she became crazed by the clues of others...unpredicatable, that one can be.
