Come join RavenWolf and AutumnsFolly in celebrating their TENth AQversary!
It's a ROAD RALLY!

DEADLINE TO SIGN UP, JULY 5TH!

Things to keep in mind:

*You will absolutely need a car, and a full tank of gas is smart.
*You will absolutely need a smart phone. If you dont have one, get a teammate with one. Yes, it's possible to do this without one, but it'll be tough.
*You will absolutely need $5.00 - it's a small registration fee per TEAM to help with expenses and prizes. (yup - prizes!)
*You will absolutely need at least 2 people per team (2 ADULTS - one to drive, one to navigate).

TEAMS:
Need one? Post in the potluck area, we'll hook you up.
Have room for someone on your team? Offer it in the potluck section. Who knows, you may get points for being generous.
Teams must have a minimum of TWO ADULTS. There is no limit to the number of folks on your team ... it's however many people fit in your car, and however many folks you'd like to share your prizes with.
Get creative. Teams are encouraged to wear costumes, decorate vehicles, and partake of any other team-spirited shenannigans.

BOXES, POINTS, and PRIZES OH MY:
* There will be letterboxes. Quite a few. Planted specifically for this event (woo hoo!) . Some may be tricky. Pay atTENtion.
* Boxes will all be in Denver - BUT we anticipate that you may not have time to get them all during the rally.
* Some of the boxes will be day of event only - and we might be kind enough to let you know which ones.

There will be time for exchanges after the event.
The rally will have a definite end time so we can tally up the points, award the prizes, and generally hang out and celebrate.

There will be points. Earn them along the way, lose them along the way. Mwahaha!
Our advice? Pay atTENtion. I repeat. Pay atTENtion.

KIDS:
Yup. This is a kid friendly event.
While not being planned with children as the focus, we won't send you anywhere that isn't kid friendly.
Some things to keep in mind in terms of your children:
* You'll be spending a significant amount of time in a hot car (it's in July - AC is recommended)
* You'll be spending a lot of time getting in and out of the car. You have to decide how logistically feasible that is for you and your family.
* There will be puzzles/ciphers that will need to be solved that won't be geared toward children's deciphering skills. They may have some downtime while you puzzle these out.
* That being said, older kids get a kick of running in and out of the car looking for images/information/numbers etc.

SIGN UP:
The event says "potluck".
Now, before you go worrying about what casserole you're bringing (please dont) ... the reason I put that is so that you can use the potluck part of the event sign up to tell us about your team (or lack of team and need for teammates).
So - please visit the event page - click on "edit your signup" and for potluck - just choose other and type away.

Jul 5, 2014: NEW EVENT VENUE!!!
Hey Road Ralliers! (is rallier a word?)
To provide for a more awesome event, we're moving the starting (and ending) points for the Road Rally. You know, we thought having tables upon which to stamp, exchange, and rest yer bums might be appreciated (not to mention bathrooms because ... yeah).
Anyhoo ... the starting point for the Rally will be at Ruby Hill Park in Denver.

Gather at 10am for registration. You'll probably want to spend a little time at the park with the clues (but that's up to you, you might want to hit the road quickly).

Jul 11, 2014: ROAD RALLY!!
Good morning ralliers. This is your captain speaking. You are on final descent to the rally tomorrow at 10 am. Before we land, we just want to go over a few details about tomorrow's rally.

You'll be landing at Ruby Hill Park: 1200 W Florida Ave, Denver, CO

Come in off of Florida and Osage, and take your 1st left into the parking lot. You should see Ookami - RavenWolf's Mini Cooper in the parking lot. She's white with black stripes, and should be pretty easy to spot. (We'll all be up by the pavilion if you need to ask for directions)

Your checklist for tomorrow:

BRING
*Your smiling faces, and those of your teammates
*$5 for registration
*Ink pads, and your siggy
*YOUR CAR! and a full tank wouldn't be a bad plan
*A smart phone with internet access, and the ability to send text/picture messages
*You'll need your odometer reading when you pull into the parking lot.

DON'T BRING
*any food :) You can nab lunch and road snacks on the way for yourselves and your team mates (no potluck - just to be clear)
*Your pets. It's going to be hot. They'll be happier at home.

MAYBE BRING
*money for parking. This is Denver, and while we've done our best to avoid it, it may depend on circumstances, and how quickly you can punt your navigator out to get that stamp. But you MAY need it.

We will go over all the rules with you guys as soon as everyone is registered tomorrow morning!We should be there around 930 - the faster we get everyone registered, the faster we can get you on the road. See you there!
