Description
The second OMG Halloween event, OMG Zombies!!! will take place at Hilton-Winn Farm in Cape Neddick, Maine. It's an amazing place featuring a barn, huge fields, goats, chickens, a fire pit, and trails! And Cape Neddick is only a half-hour from the 2010 event location (Portsmouth, NH). You can learn more about Hilton-Winn Farm and their Youth Enrichment Program here: <a href="http://sites.google.com/site/hiltonwinnfarm/about" target="_blank">http://sites.google.com/site/hiltonwinnfarm/about</a>The theme will be zombies. Costumes are highly encouraged, and if you wear one you'll get a stamp! And if you wear a ZOMBIE costume, you'll get another special stamp!
More details will be posted throughout the year as we get everything nailed down, but feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Thanks everyone!!!
-Team GollyOrbitalMoon, a.k.a. OrbitalMoonGolly, a.k.a. OMG
*******UPDATE OCTOBER 17, 2011*********
Rules for the farm:
-No smoking
-No alcohol
-No candles or flames of any kind in barn
-No fire of any kind on property. Weather permitting, Nancy will light fire pit.
-Please follow bathroom rules. They are posted in each bathroom.
-No one is to go in the house.
-Do not feed any of the animals.
-Please pick up all trash and leave the Hilton-Winn Farm like you found it.
-When parking please drive gently on our property
-All parking is across the street in field. Think of others when parking.
*******UPDATE OCTOBER 10, 2011*********
Since this year's dinner is being catered by the owner of the farm, it's going to cost a wee bit more than last year. It will be $7 per person, with no charge for kids 0-2. The menu will be baked ziti with meat sauce and sausage or baked ziti with vegetarian sauce, or plain pasta, and garlic bread. Nancy (the caterer) uses mainly locally-grown and organic produce and everything is homemade, so I think you'll find the price is worth it! :) Plus, the proceeds benefit the Youth Enrichment Program there, which Nancy will be talking about briefly at dinner, AND you'll get a special stamp for buying dinner!.
And just a friendly reminder that Nancy would like us to keep the amount of traffic coming and going to and from the event to a minimum. Carpooling is recommended. And again, everything you need is on-site, so once you arrive you won't need to drive anywhere anyway. :)
*******UPDATE OCTOBER 3, 2011**********
Friday nightboxing is on!!! It will be held at South Street Cemetery in Portsmouth, NH (about 20 minutes from Cape Neddick, ME). This is the same location as last year's Friday nightboxing. Please sign up here: <a href="http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gEventId=2272" target="_blank">http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gEventId=2272</a>
*******UPDATE SEPTEMBER 14, 2011*******
PT Theme Announced: Please carve a zombie-fied version of your signature stamp! :)
We have five series of stamps that will be planted on the property at Hilton-Winn Farm, plus two nightboxing series!
A note about parking: Please carpool if possible. Once you arrive, please plan to stay for the duration of the event. Everything you need will be on-site. Since we'll be parking on a field, the owners would like us keep the amount of driving in and out of the event to a minimum. Parking is across the street from the barn. We will have folks directing traffic.
Smoking will only be allowed in the designated smoking area. I'll be including a map in the cluebook and this area will be marked.
The interior of the house, the second floor of the barn, and the interior of the cemetery are off-limits. Bathrooms are next to the goat pen. Please do not feed the goats.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
11am: Event begins and clues will be available at the Welcome Table. Signups will be available for nightboxing.
11am-6pm: Trails open for boxing!

12pm-4pm: Zombie Photo Booth in the barn. First print is free, each additional print is $1.
12pm-3:30pm: Kid-friendly Haunted House in the barn basement
3:30pm: Group Photo outside the barn.

6pm-9pm: Scary Haunted House in the barn basement
HOTEL INFO:
Since last year's camping was a total bust due to the cold, camping will not be an option at the event location except for those on the planning committee. However, littlmoon just got in touch with the Anchorage Inn (she used to work there years ago) in York and they have saved a block of rooms for us. These rooms are on the first floor and are $70 for a single, $80 for a double. In order to reserve one of these rooms, just give them my name (Marissa Dupont) when you make your reservation. :) The phone number is (207) 363-5112.
It's a very nice hotel, in York (next town over from OMG Zombies, so only about ten minutes away), it has a heated indoor pool and hot tub. Also, they charge by room, not by person, so you don't have to worry about extra per-person charges. Extra cots are $10/each. Here's their website: <a href="http://www.anchorageinn.com/default.asp" target="_blank">http://www.anchorageinn.com/default.asp</a>
If you'd prefer to stay elsewhere, you can find more options here: <a href="http://www.ogunquit.org/accommodations.php" target="_blank">http://www.ogunquit.org/accommodations.php</a> Another good bet is the Majestic Regency.

Oct 19, 2011: Raffle and shoewear!
Just a reminder that we'll be having a raffle with many AMAZING items at OMG Zombies. Tickets will be $1 for 1 or $3 for 5 and will be on sale at the raffle table in the barn. All proceeds from the raffle cover event costs, so we greatly appreciate any tickets that you purchase! :)
Just a heads up--with all the rain this week leading up to the event, you DEFINITELY want to wear waterproof hiking boots or rain boots to the event, and bring a change of socks. There are some swampy areas on the farm and though I tried to write the clues in such a way as to keep you away from these areas, I can't make any guarantees.
Thanks everyone! Can't wait to see you all this weekend!!! :)
