Got a chance to check on this box and yes the phones and box are gone.

Went for a drive today to check on the box and yes the phones are all gone and so is the box. Maybe again some day soon we will try again here.

Thank you for a much needed break on the way to Tuscaloosa! Great hiding spot. Who knew there were even pay phones still around. All is well with this one!

I must say that AL has one of the best rest area in the US (and I have been at a few!). I loved the hiding spot (of course there was a worker near it!) and the carve was GREAT! Very simple, but very cool.
