I think the sign referenced is gone. We kept walking until we saw one which doubled the hike. Found where we thought may have been one at one time and were able to find the box. Thanks!

Wow - I can't believe more people haven't found this! Great carving and interesting info on WNS.

Love the carve! The sign "Area Closed" is now on the ground. It is also exactly on the trail you need to take to the box. Because the X fence and sign were there, we went on up the main trail. Figured out the trail we needed was where the sign was when we couldn't find any other minor trails. Love the hiding spot.
The Hippo statue on the other side of the pond is kind of out of place for a mountain community. What's the significance. Hubby and I were joking about it.

The true highlight of the day, week, probably the month and maybe even the year was seeing the big black bear just ambling through!!!! We were just finishing up and this bear was just moseying along down the trail to the lake. WOW! Now that's seeing wildlife--- of course, we left the camera in the truck.
Oh yeah.... the stamp was pretty cool too!
Thanks!

No bats, but lots of wildflowers.

Wonderful clues, and you helped us find a park we wouldn't have otherwise seen. Thank you!

Very nice stamp, and the hiding place even has a built-in seat to sit on!

We like the carve.....and know about WNS. I hope they can find a solution.
