We saw birds and a deer, but no alligator...and no box.

Nice, flat, easy walk to the Ibis Pond. I communed with nature for awhile as I sat on the bench and did my stamping. Lots of different birds in and near the pond. The clues were great and the letterbox was exactly where stated.

Found this box on an evening stroll today. The Ibis are nesting and we saw many, along with several herons. We also saw a baby gator sunning by the water. The logbook is BEYOND full.

Thought I should give a heads up.....be sure to follow the advice of posted signs and leave NOTHING of value in your vehicle when you take this walk. We stopped for for this one on our way home from vacation so our van was packed for the the trip home. While taking our 30 min hike to this box our van window was smashed in and items were stolen. Please be aware that there have been quite a few vehicle break ins in the area of Bluffton ....something we weren't aware of at the time. Be safe!

O MY GOODNESS ,, WHAT A LOVELY HIKE ,,, HAVE BEEN GOING TO HILTON HEAD FOR 17 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER WENT STROLLING ON THE PINCKNEY ISLAND AT SUNSET.
