Baa Baa, Black Sheep! - Definitely gone with the floods of June 07; even the tree has washed away into the river. - Viewfinder
Little Black Sheep has gone afar.
Two Stone Lions and a big gold star
Mark the trail by the Riverside
Where Little Black Sheep has gone to hide.
North of NW Hwy at Bird’s Fort, leave your car
And walk back toward the lions (it’s really not far).
Past occasional benches and a state record tree,
Continue ahead and a bridge you’ll soon see.
Stop at the bridge and look to the side
There’s a dirt path there by the water’s side.
About 40 paces on this path you 'll see
On the right, a tall, old, dead cedar elm tree.
In the fork of this tree at eye level is hiding
The black sheep – ‘fraid of lions that might bite him!
After your stamping and logging is through,
Recover him well, hide him from view
Of joggers and strollers and lions and such,
Or those lions just might have that Black Sheep for lunch!
Note: When you find the Black Sheep, you are very, very near PuddleSplasher’s Neckties and Running Shoes!
Hike Length: 0.5 miles
