Oh, what a horrible day....

Amanda and I went snorkeling today. Terrible. The water was wet and mud ingrained itself into places I can't mention in public. The salt water tasted HORRIBLE. Blah! The weather was hot, but the water surprisingly cold. The fins we used were much too small and hurt our feet. I think one of the fish was laughing at me, and the dolphins swimming around us were not very cooperative for taking their pictures. Waves slapped us around like dolls.

Then we went to a second beach which was VERY crowded with people, but no turtles would expose themselves for us. At least we didn't have to swim a good distance to reach the coral reefs, though.

All-in-all, another terrible day in paradise. =)

Perhaps they needed YOU to show them how, first! ;)

The dolphins were very active and would not stay still for photos! They are called spinner dolphins and they jump out of the water and spin. This is a natural activity and they have never been trained to do this. They were frolicking throughout the first bay we snorkeled in. In fact, it was hard to stay away from them. There are a lot of signs telling you to stay away from the dolphins and turtles and to respect their space. But these dolphins swim much faster than I do and would just come cruising by us. At one point Ryan swam right thru a whole pod of dolphins and he didn't even notice it!

I do have a nasty blister on the top of my foot from the too small flippers. But a cool frozen drink helped ease the pain some this evening at sunset. Tomorrow is our last day on Hawaii and then it is home to Seattle. We have more letterboxing on the agenda for tomorrow before our flight.

That is so wonderful you two are having a blissful time!
Yippee.
So don't you ever wonder if the papparazzi will notice who you both are simply by the fact that you are together in public?!

I think the little.... booooo hooooo "whiner" just DID.

Ouch, ouch <puts on sunglasses>...We've been FLASHED ffs!

Now go away ....back inside your wittle shell....and vacation.

I mean ...really...sometimes "got it, flaunt it" is meant to be....enjoyed ..elsewhere!

Btw, the infection on the back right inside (aka turtle butt) is about to need antibiotics...I just "know" it....due, of course, to things ingraining themselves into unmentionable places..

And you were expecting it to be . . . what? Dry? <g>

I'd say Amanda's lucky to be there and not here, given what US Air's been going through lately!

Yes, and it's annoying! Requires you to wear all that yucky sunscreen. It's clear and sunny once again this morning. *grumbling*

I don't know why you're all complaining about the snow, though. Some people deliberately travel TO the snow just to play around in it. *nodding* Snow is fun and MUCH less wet than rain and sea water. *nodding*

Now Ryan - that depends on the snow....:-)

AGJ - who has been drenched too frequently by snow here in Colorado (state of 2 blizzards), but does witness those who seek the snow quite frequently. ;-)

I am so thankful that I am missing the snafus with USAirways. I was lucky last Nov/Dec I missed those weather problems too. Let me tell you, it is no fun to be working when the weather is screwing up the flights. It hasn't been fun flying the last couple of weeks just because of our computer switch-over and now this has just made things worse. I hope it will have all blown over by the time I come back to work March 25th. And of course our bases are concentrated in the NorthEast....New York, Boston and Philly. All hit hard.

lay back and tell the truth...
you are loving every minute, 'yucky sunscreen' and everything!
we are happy when you are happy!

hmmm, does anyone know someone that works at the airport, you could load their suitcases full of them prior to them picking them up. Now wouldn't that be cute???

No really we are happy for you both!

Too late. We're already back in Seattle, enjoying the glorious sunrise this morning. Had a beautiful view of downtown Seattle coming in for a landing. Flew over West Seattle from the south, banked around the Space Needle for a perfect landing back at SeaTac.

Pilot said it was a perfect 32°F at landing.

What more could we ask for? Life is good. =) Don't know what all of you guys were complaining about on the mainland. I'm certainly enjoying myself!

Marriette, what is a dufflepud?? It sounds real cute, kind of like a puffle on club penguin.

Quote what is a dufflepud?

In the C.S. Lewis Narnia book, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, they go to an island of of little dwarf-like people called Dufflepuds who only have one big foot and hop around. Their Chief tends to make the most obvious remarks, such as "Getting dark now; always does at night", and the above-mentioned observation that water is "powerful wet stuff", to which the others enthusiastically agree with a chorus of "That's right Chief!" "You've got the right of it there" and such.

They are funny, and more like me than is comfortable, I'm afraid.

(has to go try to carve the Dawn Treader for the Narnia PLB ring - I won't be able to do Pauline Baynes justice, but it's my favourite Narnia book)
